Women who've battled a life threatening disease got a free day of pampering from a Fargo salon.
The Salon Professional Academy took part in Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day, offering complimentary salon services like haircuts, manicures and facials to ladies currently fighting or previously diagnosed with cancer. Moorhead cancer survivor Gail Bartkowviak battled cancer 25 years ago and recently underwent pre-cancer treatment again. She says she's thankful for this extra sign of support.
Bartkowviah: "I think it's fantastic. I wish more places would do it for women to feel good about themselves and look good."
Sarah Lundblad, Acadamy Director: "They've been through such a long journey so we want to make sure that they have a support system here and while many things in their appearance may have changed throughout their journey, they are still beautiful inside and outside."
All of the Salon Profssional Academy's locations across the country participated.
