A Roseau County Sheriff Deputy is facing charges for accidentally shooting his wife.
Nathan Cossentine is being charged with transportation of an uncased, loaded firearm and recklessly handling a firearm.
Authorities say in November, Deputy Cossentine and his wife Michelle were sitting in their Suburban. Nathan was checking to see if his hunting rifle was loaded when the gun went off, sending a bullet skimming across the top of Michelle's leg. While the bullet did go into the skin and fatty tissue, the muscle and bone were not touched.
Cossentine is scheduled to be in court March 3rd.
He faces up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 dollar fine for each count.
