Fargo Theatre celebrates digital transition

It's a day of celebration for the historic Fargo Theatre, and you're invited. The downtown attraction has made the switch over to digital, with help from donors and fundraisers all over the community. To show their appreciation, employees are throwing a party and screening tonight.

It's a day of celebration for the historic Fargo Theatre, and you're invited. The downtown attraction has made the switch over to digital, with help from donors and fundraisers all over the community. To show their appreciation, employees are throwing a party and screening tonight.

The private party is for top donors but the screening is open to the public. The feature film is Back to the Future, starting tonight at 7.

Emily Beck, Fargo Theatre Executive Director: "It's a thank you for our donors, for our audience members that have supported us all these years. It's a fun way to really show off our digital technology with the digitally remastered Back to the Future and yeah, it's just a little celebration saying we're here, we've done it!"

The digital conversion for both auditoriums cost more than 200,000 dollars.
