UND ROTC Gets One Of Nations Highest Honors

The U-N-D ROTC battalion got one of the nation's highest honors today for their work, the 2010 McArthur Award.

The U-N-D ROTC battalion got one of the nation's highest honors today for their work, the 2010 McArthur Award.

The unit is just one of 8 from about 270 university ROTC battalions to get the award in 2010.

The award is based on summer camp scores, order of Merritt and ranger competitions they compete in.

Then battalion’s commander says its recognition of 4 years of hard work.

"Brian Anderson/ROTC:We make sure everything we do is to our best ability we leave everything on the battle field. We don't take anything home with us so all of that has paid off because when we get to the end like we are now, we have left everything out there and we're recognized at a national level."

Anderson says this sets a new standard for their unit, one future members will have to live up to.
