A bomb threat this evening forced the evacuation of hundreds of shoppers at the Grand Forks Walmart.
A typical Saturday night at Walmart changed in an instant.
Shopper Leonard Key: "I was in the store shopping, was in the restroom and they had an evacuation. Had a bomb threat."
Two threats were made, one in the store and one in the parking lot.
Shopper Doris Pchajek: "We got in our car and we're leaving the parking lot and decided we should eat and stopped at Red Lobster. Bad idea."
Authorities have blocked off every entrance near Walmart. Sam's Club and Red Lobster, leaving shoppers and employees stranded for hours.
Pchajek: "Now they said we can go but we can't take our car. So we have to wait for an hour or two hours before they tell us we can get our car."
Shopper Charles Scrimshaw: "It doesn't bother us. it's just kind of inconvenient because we want to get it done and go back home."
Shoppers are thankful nothing suspicious was found, but they say it did cause fear and anxiety.
Pchajek: "I just think that's a terrible thing for a practical joke. There's nothing funny about that."
Walmart is now back open...and the shopping continues.
Scrimshaw:: "Finish our shopping oh ya that's not going to hold us back."
Pchajek: "We're just going to go shop somewhere on foot."
Key: "I needed to get some shorts today. I still need to get some shorts today."
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Grand Forks Police Department.
