It was a close call for an intoxicated man in Fargo this morning as he dodged a train seconds before it nearly hit him.

It happened in the middle of the tracks near 17th Street North and Main. Fargo Police say the conductor saw someone sitting on the tracks, so the crew hit the emergency brakes and blew the whistle. Authorities say the man on the tracks was intoxicated and turned to wave at the train. With only seconds to spare he rolled off the tracks before being hit. The man's name is not being released - he was taken to detox. Trespassing charges are pending.
