Spring planting behind schedule in region

The US Agriculture Department says planting of spring wheat is just 86 percent complete. Durum wheat is also behind at 88 percent complete. Both crops were 100 percent complete at this time last year in North Dakota.

Both crops were 100 percent complete at this time last year in North Dakota. In Minnesota farm work is inching ahead. Corn planting in Minnesota is 94 percent complete. Soybean planting is 84 percent complete. Normally Minnesota farmers have planted all their corn and nearly all their soybeans by now.
