After countless months of waiting a Fargo boy boy has finally received a gift like no other. 10-year-old Jordan Peterson got a new set of healthy lungs early Tuesday morning.

Jordan's chest was opened at 2:30 this morning, at 6:05 his lungs were out and at 9:45 the new lungs were in and perfusing. The family relocated to Huston in October to receive treatment for Jordan's cystic fibrosis. He was on the waiting list for about 8 months. The family has had three false alarms in the past for potential donors. Jordan's father Dan says it's an overwhelming feeling now that a dream has become a reality.

Dan: "I was overwhelmed with emotion, the minute they told us that the lungs were perfusing, that they were, blood was flowing, and that tissue had become living tissue again."

Jordan's journey isn't over just yet. He will continue to need a lot of medical attention and anti-rejection medication. The family plans on being in Texas for several months.
