12.5 pounds of marijuana discovered at Grand Forks Amtrak station

At about 2:30 Friday morning the Grand Forks Police Department, Narcotic Task Force and US Border patrol were called to the Grand Forks Am-Trak train depot in response to a Border Patrol tip that an individual was carrying a large amount of marijuana on board the train.

At about 2:30 Friday morning the Grand Forks Police Department, Narcotic Task Force and US Border patrol were called to the Grand Forks Am-Trak train depot in response to a Border Patrol tip that an individual was carrying a large amount of marijuana on board the train.

Officers discovered an unattended bag aboard the train. When no one claimed ownership the bag was confiscated and found to contain 12.5 pounds of marijuana and an ID card for 25-year-old Caesar Jay Leal Jr. of California. Officers then contacted Fargo police who arrested Leal upon his arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
