Hundreds of thousands in damages after Clifford, ND storms

High winds and severe storms rolled through Clifford, North Dakota Thursday night leaving a wave of destruction behind. There's hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage to the town that's home to just a few dozen people.

Most of that cost is from damages to the Clifford Farmers CO-OP grain elevators. One steel elevator completely ripped off of the ground and landed on top of a car with two passengers inside.

Scott Haux: "We just took off, drove by the bins. There's straight line winds so bad you couldn't see past the bins so I stopped. About two seconds later a 50,000 bushel bin let loose, went up in the air and came down on top of the car."

Clifford residents tell say this is the worst damage they've ever seen to their small town. Remarkably, no one was injured.
