Devils Lake 37th annual walleye tournament
Nearly 300 anglers are on Devils Lake this weekend, hoping to win big prizes for a big catch. The Devils Lake Chamber's 37th annual Walleye tournament kicked off Friday morning. The tournament will pick up again Saturday at seven am.The winners will be announced after all the fish are weighed. Anglers will have until 3:00 pm to grab the biggest fish they can.
Blues on the Red
Downtown Grand Forks is preparing to kick off its annual "Blues on the Red" event. The first of three events starts Saturday night at the Grand Forks Town Square.
Blues on the red is a free event that spans over three months. The first event is Saturday, other Blues on the Red concerts take place in July and August. For more information, click here.
Mayville-Portland Summerfest 2013
Summer's officially here as of Friday and the grills were fired up in Mayville today as people were treated to some free food. Hotdogs and chips were free to anyone who stopped by, although donations were encouraged to help support the Mayville Food Pantry. Today's was one of the many family-oriented events happening at Summerfest 2013.
Summerfest continues this weekend in Mayville-Portland. Some of the highlights include a parade in Mayville at 11 am and a Barn Dance from 7:30 until 11 pm. A full list of the region's weekend events is available here.
Century-old Grand Forks Civil War statue to be re-dedicated
This weekend a century-old civil war statue in Grand Forks is being re-dedicated. The statue at the intersection of Belmont road and 6th St was built to honor Union dead and veterans. The program begins at 2:00 Sunday afternoon.
Devils Lake Run for the Fallen
Soldiers in Devils Lake are honoring their fallen comrades in a unique way this weekend -- running for each North Dakota soldier killed in action since September 11, 2001.
Anyone can run. Registration begins Saturday morning at 7:30 at Burdick Arena in Devils Lake. The run and walk starts at 8:00, and goes from the arena to Camp Grafton.
