The event is billed as the Longest Day - - it's a sunrise to sunset effort by those who want to help in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. And today (Friday) is the first time the event has been held in Grand Forks. Activities at the town square included exercise classes and informational booths. The day is held on solstice Friday, which is the longest day of the year. Participants also undertake a variety of fundraising challenges that last at least 16 hours. The event continued tonight with a band and a large fireworks display.
