In Fargo the Red River is expected to rise high enough to cause considerable concern -- enough so that the city is constructing a two-foot levee to protect the city up to 30 feet on 2nd Street North and South.

The river is expected to crest over 30 feet sometime Thursday, all of which will make traffic in downtown Fargo a problem. The city's engineer says with closures and summer construction to boot, it's best to avoid the area altogether if possible.
