The Greater Grand Forks Fair starts today, bringing in a few new items and featuring crowd favorites throughout the week. Fair board members expect 35-40,000 people to come over the next five days.

Vendors came to set up as early as Sunday, and were still working to get booths ready Wednesday morning. About ten rides were added this year, bringing the total to 30 rides. Tonight's events include the voice of greater grand forks contest and a teen dance. 4-H kids were also allowed to set up their exhibits this afternoon. Over 200 kids are involved in the 4-H program in Grand Forks. During the fair they'll get to enter their animals into shows and tell the public about the projects they worked on during the year.
