Police search for suspects in Wednesday afternoon hit and run

Grand Forks Police are looking for the suspects in a car that hit a man and drove off just after 2 pm Wednesday afternoon. Police responded to the accident at the 1200 block of North 5th Street. Witnesses told police the man was crossing the street when the car struck him.

Grand Forks Police are looking for the suspects in a car that hit a man and drove off just after 2 pm Wednesday afternoon. Police responded to the accident at the 1200 block of North 5th Street. Witnesses told police the man was crossing the street when the car struck him.

The car stopped and four men got out, but then got back in the car and left the scene. The victim was transported to Altru Hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries. The licenses plate number of the vehicle was taken down by witnesses.

Sgt. Kevin Kallinen, Grand Forks Police: "The car could be borrowed, the registration might not have been changed. But that is the starting point and that is what we are working on at this point."

Witnesses describe the car as black 4-door ford Lincoln, with Minnesota license plates 272 KPK. The people who got out of the car are describes as 4 black males. If you have any information you are asked to call the Grand Forks police department at 701-787-8000.
