The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning as the Red River rises above flood stage at Grand Forks and Oslo. Meteorologists say all of last week's rainfall to our south is finally working its way north.

While the river is expected to fall back below flood stage by Sunday, meteorologists say they're keeping an eye out for any major storm events before then.

Mike Lukes, National Weather Service: "A thunderstorm on the inside could produce flash flooding and the city pumps have to take care of that. And you could see some basement flooding, street flooding due to flash flooding if we do get a thunderstorm right over us."

Lukes also says while summertime flooding is not uncommon it's a bit harder to predict.
