The Fourth of July created a long weekend, which means a long time on the lake for anglers in the Lake Region. Guides and fishermen were scrambling today to reel in as many fish as they could.

Many anglers are taking the long weekend to discover Devils Lake for the first time. They say the experience will keep them coming back for more. Guide services say they're booked solid this weekend. That's been the case for most of the season, especially as anglers look to make up for the late start to summer fishing. But this weekend has brought great weather, and a strong bite for fishing. The bite means guides are working overtime, and anglers are bringing the limit home with them.

Out of town anglers say they like fishing Devils Lake because the fish come faster and they catch more than at other lakes.
