Governor Jack Dalrymple has named a Lake Region State College student to the state board of higher education. Devin Hoffarth took a seat on the board at the beginning of June. One student a year gets to sit on the board, with full voting privileges.

Hoffarth graduated from Lake Region this spring and will study at Mayville State University through the Lake Region campus in the fall. Dalrymple says he chose Hoffarth because he will have experience at both a two-year and four-year college. Hoffarth says he thinks his insight will be useful.

Hoffarth: "I think its very important because the students are what make the colleges run so its very important to get their opinions and what they need in order to make the colleges run successfully."

Hoffarth will spend Wednesday in Bismarck getting trained to perform his duties as a board member.
