Quite the scene in Walsh County tonight as shots were fired in what were told was a serious animal control situation.

It all started around 5:00 Monday night. Police moved in on a home just east of Warsaw on 61st street northeast. Walsh County Sheriff's deputies drew shotguns and rifles. WDAZ had a reporter on scene who heard shots fired. Other witnesses say they heard the same. Witnesses tell WDAZ that the man who lives at the home had pitbulls on the property that had been running freely. People on scene say they saw a trailer drive past them as the situation ended and on that trailer they say they saw what appeared to be dead dogs.

The situation ended about 3 and a half hours later. We will have more information as it become available.
