Wednesday, the Olympic women's hockey player was back in Warroad at a celebration in her honor.
The Gardens hockey arena in Warroad was filled with fans as Gigi Marvin received a hero's welcome as she made a pit stop in her hometown to meet with her biggest supporters.
Macie McLughtlin / Received Autograph: "I got my shirt signed and a picture of Gigi signed."
Gigi Marvin: "I mean looking at some of these faces that I know and some of those that I don't know so its great to see everyone who is cheering for me back home."
Getting an autograph signed and taking pictures with this silver mendalist was not the only thing people gathered here to do. Meeting her role model pushed Hannah Johnston to hit the ice.
Hannah Johnston/ Local Hockey Player: "We definitely looked up to her since we started hockey. She is a great role model just seeing her success pushes us even harder."
As people in town lined up in the lobby of the Gardens, Gigi Marvin could not believe the support from Warroad as she skated her way to a silver medal in Vancouver.
Gigi Marvin / Olympic Silver Medalist: "To play in the actual Olympics was such a great feeling that and I'm so thankful and blessed to be part of such a wonderful team."
Marvin says joining the other Olympians on the wall of fame at the Gardens is a dream come true.
