There's a new plan to attract more visitors to Grand Forks. Community leaders are focusing on drivers coming off Interstate 29.

The area is being called the destination corridor. Apartments, businesses and hotels are now going up along 42nd Street.

Construction stretches from 32nd Avenue to the Center For Innovation. And with these projects, city leaders envision an art park along the sidewalk. They say colorful sculptures mixed with new landscaping and local artwork will help attract more tourists.

Grant money from the Knight Foundation is currently in the works for the community art project. Organizers hope to have everything in place within five years.
