Cinderella's fairy godmother had some competition in Grand Forks today.

With Prom season just around the corner...the race is on to find the perfect dress. But with the economy forcing people to tighten their purse strings, the right dress may not be the right price.

The UND Nonprofit Leadership Student Association is here to help. Today was the second annual Formal Wear Sale in downtown Grand Forks.

The event benefits the dress buyer...the Nonprofit students as well as the Grand Forks Community Violence Intervention Center.

And whether you were looking for a prom dress, wedding dress or just an extra dress to have around...this group offered it all.

"We offer low cost dresses for those who might not be able to afford it or, you know, girls who want multiple dresses that they don't have to spend so much money," says Karen McMahonUND NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP STUDENT ASSOC.

Dresses that are not sold today will be held onto until next year or donated to local thrift stores.
