It's been two weeks since the stabbing in the parking lot at the Grand Forks Fuji Steakhouse and a drive-by shooting in East Grand Forks. Now sources say the two incidents are related.

No arrests have been made in either case, but suspects have been identified in the stabbing. Police say investigations are still ongoing. Both the Grand Forks Police and East Grand Forks Police say they're working with each other to help solve the cases.

Several shots left broken glass and bullet holes in the front window of Michael Couatte's home in East Grand Forks. Police say the shooter was likely targeting another family member, who was not home. 3 days earlier, 18-year-old Andrew Summers of Grand Forks was stabbed in the Fuji parking lot. Both a knife and bat were used in the assault. Grand Forks Police Lieutenant Jim Remer says pressing charges in the stabbing case is up to the State's attorney.

Remer: "We've identified and talked to people that were involved in this incident. we do have some information at the state's attorneys office not for charges at this point but that we'll be in consultation with them and we'll see where that goes."

Lieutenant Remer says it's common to consult the state's attorney's office in cases like these to determine where the investigation should go from here. He says it's possible charges will be filed, but did not give a timeline on when.
