EERC Proposes Expansion
The Energy and Environmental Research Center on the University of North Dakota campus is proposing a $14 million expansion to make room for new staff.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - The Energy and Environmental Research
Center on the University of North Dakota campus is proposing a $14
million expansion to make room for new staff.
EERC Director Gerald Groenewold says he's adding
about one new employee each week and expects to be out of space
after March 20.
The center employs about 360 people and Groenewold has a goal of
adding another 100 in the next two years.
The proposed expansion is a three-story, 60,000-square-foot
addition that would contain office and lab space.
Groenewold says financing still is being worked out but the
money likely would mainly come from EERC revenue from contracts
with government agencies and businesses. He says the project would
not involve state or federal money.
