Grand Forks City Hall was the site of a Clean Energy Symposium today. Clean energy jobs and their impact on the local economy and environment was the focus.

The briefing was hosted by Mayor Micheal Brown and attended by leaders of the clean energy movement. Brown says Grand Forks businesses have always been on the forefront of clean energy and he expects local businesses to continue to grow in the area.

Brown: "As we expand and grow our young business leaders recognize the importance of sustainability and energy renewability. And we're seeing our new buildings want to be LEED Gold certified."

The city also is working with the Green 3 Grand Forks initiative that recognizes efforts through the Mayor's Green Business Awards.
