Anglers are out and the fish are finally biting after a slow start to the fishing season on Devils Lake.

Woodland Resorts owner Kyle Blanchfield says 14 to 16 inch fish are the most plentiful but fish of other sizes aren't lacking either. Walleyes, muskies, and many others are in the lake, ready to be caught.

"We had a tough start in the beginning with the crummy May we had, but it's bee rip-roaring crazy good since then," Blanchfield said. "Probably one of the strongest Julys I've ever seen and I expect to see the fishing continue strong throughout the rest of the summer."

Blanchfield says he hopes August will make up for the slow start in May. He says most weekends are booked, but that it should be easy to find a fishing guide during the week.
