Road construction nearing completion

Now that August is here, the many road construction projects around town are approaching their final stages. Repairs on South Columbia Road from the bridge to 11th Avenue South are expected to finish in September.

Now that August is here, the many road construction projects around town are approaching their final stages. Repairs on South Columbia Road from the bridge to 11th Avenue South are expected to finish in September. Meanwhile, work continues on 32nd Avenue South from I 29 to South Washington Street. This is expected to be complete by the end of August. Repairs to Stanford Road between University Avenue and 6th Avenue North will finish up by August 15th and, part of the downtown parking ramp will open back up by September 2nd. Overall, public information officer Kevin Dean says construction season is going well. The South Columbia bridge will have one lane open each way by August 11th, but could be as soon as early next week.
