East Grand Forks Police Officer Kenneth Olson was killed in the line of duty 35 years ago. His memory is being kept alive tomorrow with the first motorcycle ride in his honor.

The 115 mile ride is sponsored by Iron Pigs Motorcycle club. It starts at noon at O'Leary Park in East Grand Forks. The ride will be followed by dinner and live music, among other festivities. And, a $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to one area student who plans to pursue a career in law enforcement, EMS or firefighting. Organizer Mike Anderson says it feels good to keep Olson's memory alive and says this will likely be an annual event, and they already have most of the funds for next year's scholarship.
