Authorities have identified the man who drowned while swimming with friends in a Clay county gravel pit. The Clay county sheriff's office says he was 26 year old Joel Berge of Fargo. Berge and his friends were legally swimming in the gravel pit near Felton. The pit is owned by the DNR and is public land. The incident happened around 7:30 last night at the Felton Gravel Pit. The victim's friend called 911 saying the man went under the water and he hadn't been seen in about 20 minutes. After searching for about an hour and a half, they recovered the man's body. Because of this accident Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist says there will be more enforcement around legal and non legal gravel pits.
