The memory of an East Grand Forks police officer, who was killed while on the job 35 years ago, is being kept alive today with the first motorcycle ride in his honor.

The Kenneth Olson Memorial Ride brought about 200 riders to O'Leary Park in East Grand Forks.

This morning, motorcylists took a 115 mile ride in Olson's honor.

They met back up for food, entertainment and a speech from Olson's widow.

The event is sponsored by the Iron Pigs Motorcycle Club. All money raised goes to a scholarship fund.

Bonnie Andrys/Kenneth Olson's Widow: "It was just that feeling of brotherhood again that they share, so it was wonderful. Today was a happy day."

Most of the money needed for next year's scholarship is already raised.
