Though it's well past flood season, towns are still suffering from the effects. FEMA damage assessment teams were in Traill County Monday checking for flood damage.

Many roads and bridges in Traill County have been closed since March due to flood damage, and FEMA teams have been up and down the red river valley for the past few months asessing damage to determine which areas qualify for federal funding to be fixed.

FEMA Spokesperson Tim Tyson stresses that flooding is the disaster that affects the most people in the country. "You see a lot of publicity about hurricans, tornadoes and so forth, but flooding is the biggest disaster that we currently have been dealing with in the past ten years," says Tyson.

FEMA intends to present projects that are eligible for repair funding at a meeting on Tuesday.
