The memory of an East Grand Forks police officer was kept alive this weekend with the first motorcycle ride in his honor.

Kenneth Olson was killed on the job 35 years ago. More than 200 people attended the Kenneth Olson Memorial Ride on Saturday at O'Leary Park in East Grand Forks. 86 motorcyclists took a 115 mile ride in Olson's honor, and all money raised goes to a scholarship fund.

This year, Brett Anderson from Crookston received a 2,500 dollar scholarship to Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls. Saturday's event topped that-- raising 4,000 dollars for next year's scholarship.
