The East Grand Forks "Save Our Pool" group is inviting the community to get "sop'd" at a water carnival this week. People can enjoy music, games, raffles, face painting and of course, swimming. Kids can also dunk the greater Grand Forks mayors in a celebrity dunk tank.

The "Save Our Pool" group has been finding ways to raise money for more than a year, as the city's existing pool needs repairs and renovations that could cost as much as $6 million.

The water carnival is this Thursday from 6 to 11 PM with a movie in the water starting at dusk. Wristbands are $3 and people can buy hot dogs and root beer floats from 4 - 8 PM at the "lot party." All the proceeds benefit the save our pool group.
