The biggest question around the North Dakota football team is who's going to be the green and white's starting quarterback.
Detroit Lakes, MN. native Joe Mollberg and Ryan Bartels out of Sycamore, Illinois are listed as "even" on the depth chart.
Both say they're confident they can lead the offense and can bring a lot to the team.
Joe Mollberg, UND freshman quarterback, "I think I'm big, athletic. I have a strong arm and can make all the throws I need to. I have the leadership to play the quarterback position and just hopefully bring everything I need to be the quarterback for this team."
Ryan Bartels, UND freshman quarterback, "Joe and I are very similar players. Joe is a little more athletic and I'm pretty confident on my reads. I'm going to continue to improve everyday. I'm excited, I want to get to Valpo and get that first game underway and go from there."
Chris Mussman, UND head coach, "I want them both to be confident going into that first game and I want them going into practice with that attitude that I'm still battling for a job. Competition is good for all of us.
UND opens up the season at home against Valparaiso, Thursday, August 29th.
