Giant Bison Statue Needs A Name
Tourism officials in Jamestown have launched a contest to name what is billed as the world's largest buffalo statue.
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - Tourism officials in Jamestown have
launched a contest to name what is billed as the world's largest
buffalo statue.
Whoever comes up with the winning name for the 26-foot-tall,
60-ton bison statue that has stood near Interstate 94 for half a
century will win $1,000.
Buffalo City Tourism Foundation executive director Nina Sneider
says officials are looking for a name that is both fun and
dignified.
People can submit names through April 15. The winner will be
announced at a ceremony in June.
