UND Wide Receivers Look to Lead Offense

The University of North Dakota football team returns their top six wide receivers from last season.

There are several question marks for the University of North Dakota football team heading into the 2013 season. The biggest being who's going to be UND's starting quarterback. No matter who starts at QB for the green and white, they will have some great wide receivers to throw to.

The group is led by Preseason All-American Greg Hardin who went for over 11 hundred yards and 14 touchdowns last year.

And Mr. Hardin brings back three of his best buddies-Jameer Jackson, Kenny Golladay, and Blair Townsend all return to the roster. The four of them combined for 25 hundred yards and 23 touchdowns last fall.

Blair Townsend, UND senior wide receiver, "If they get us the ball, it's our job to catch it. That's one thing that's good for a freshman quarterback to come in with a veteran wide receiving group, guys who know how to catch the ball and know what to do with the ball."

When asked about if the group had a competition between them, Greg Hardin, UND senior wide receiver laughed, "It's always a competition with your friends. It's always fun. We all joke around saying who had the most yards or touchdowns but in the end, it's about the team."

UND coaches are excited about the group saying they could be even better next year.

Luke Schleusner, UND offensive coordinator, "I'm blessed and fortunate to coach those guys and the best thing about it they all have great attitudes and they all have great work ethics. They worked hard in the weight room and they're going to be a lot better than they were last season, they're physically better."

UND opens up the season August 29th at home against Valparaiso.
