New Devils Lake Police Chief Sworn In

The City of Devils Lake officially has a new police chief.

Devils Lake mayor Fred Bott swore Keith Schroeder in tonight.

Today was Schroeder's first day on the job. He comes to Devils Lake from Grand Forks...where he was a sergeant.

Schroeder calls his new job a great opportunity, both for him and for his family.

He says he's heard good things about the Devils Lake Police Department.

Schroeder says he's still in the process of learning how things operate in Devils Lake.

He says he wants the department to provide the best services it can to the community.

Keith Schroeder: Then maybe to start looking at processes and procedures and see if we can streamline operations.

Schroeder replaces former chief Bruce Kemmet, who retired in June.
