A nicked artery during the initial incision to remove a lap band is being blamed in the death of Qfm radio host Kerri Drees.
Kerri's husband, Steve Drees says about an hour after surgery started, he was told of the complications during the procedure. Drees never made it out of surgery, she was 47 years old.
In lieu of flowers, Drees' family is requesting people make donations in Kerri's honor to Shine the Light Incorporated and the Circle of Friends Humane society. Services are scheduled for Saturday. Those attending are being asked to bring a cross to place beside the casket. Kerri's visitation will be at 11 am at Hope Evangelical Covenant Church in Grand Forks. The funeral starts at 1 pm and is open to the public.
