The nearly 13-ton anchor of a Navy ship used during the Vietnam War arrived in Grand Forks Monday from Galveston, Texas.

It will be stored over the winter before being displayed in the city's new veterans memorial park. Other historic pieces including military shells and an engraved granite wall will also be included. Those involved with the future park say it will recognize all those involved in the nation's conflicts.

The location of the park has yet to be determined. Construction is to begin next summer.
