The Crookston City Council has voted to fire City Administrator Tony Chladek. The Council voted 6 to 1 Monday night to terminate Chladek's job effective immediately. Chladek's job performance has been at issue since he took over the position early last year. At a special meeting in April, Mayor Dave Genereux broke the tie in a "confidence vote" in Chladek's favor.

Crookston City Council members were tight lipped on the reasons for the firing, other than saying he wasn't getting the job done.

In an email to the Crookston Times Monday night Chladek encourages them to discuss the council's progress on the linked Council strategic priorities, especially those related to business, downtown and housing, attaching a copy of the city administrator job description in the email.
