Grand Forks Red River senior quarterback Chad Bartosh is going for the trifecta.
"We were EDC champs last year, that would be pretty cool to repeat three times in a row."
And to do so, the Rough Riders need number three to step into a new leadership role.
Bartosh, Grand Forks Red River senior quarterback, "I feel like I bring in leadership and a double threat, being able to able to pass and run. I feel like I'm one of the captains and people do look up to me as a captain."
Vyrn Muir, Grand Forks Red River head football coach, "Chad is a competitor. You just know that when you need something to happen, he's the guy that you want the ball in his hands."
Bartosh saw a great wide receiving corps graduate from last year’s eight and two squad and is now being relied on as a playmaker.
Jake Robson, Grand Forks Red River senior tight end, "He's pretty vocal but he does stuff instead of talks about it, shows people what to do and then they follow his example."
Following him down a familiar road. The last two season, Red River has been knocked out in the first round of the Triple A playoffs. Now that road is looking to be paved even further.
Muir, "Our goal is to get to the end of the season, to have playoff opportunities and we would like to get out of the first round but that's the lofty goal. We need to take care of other things ahead of that."
What lies ahead is opening up the season at Bismarck, the defending state champions.
Brady Regimbal, Grand Forks Red River senior lineman, "This year our goal is to keep moving on from what we did last year and we want to win a playoff game this year and see how far we can go."
Red River opens up the season August 30th.
