CVS requires ID to purchase nail polish remover

There's a new policy at several pharmacy stores catching shoppers off guard. They're getting carded for buying nail polish remover.

The CVS Pharmacy stores in Grand Forks is now carding people under the age of 18 who buy nail polish remover.

The nail polish remover contains acetone, which is also used to make methamphetamine. CVS released the following statement.

"We are committed to ensuring customer convenience while appropriately complying with regulations in our business. With that in mind, we are in the process of reviewing our policy concerning the sale of products containing acetone."

CVS says it's in the process of implementing the policy nationwide.
