Funding For New Staff Members At Fort Berthold Health Center
The Three Affiliated Tribes say President Barack Obama's budget includes $8.3 million to pay for 88 new staff members at the Elbowoods Memorial Health Center being built on the Fort Berthold Reservation.
NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) - The Three Affiliated Tribes say President
Barack Obama's budget includes $8.3 million to pay for 88 new staff
members at the Elbowoods Memorial Health Center being built on the
Fort Berthold Reservation.
If Congress approves the funding, the facility will have 132
positions, ranging from doctors and nurses to physician assistants
and emergency medical technicians.
Ground was broken for the $20 million health center last
October. The Army Corps of Engineers is to complete it in mid-2011,
after which it will be turned over to the Indian Health Service.
