CVS reverses decision on products containing acetone

A national pharmacy chain is dropping a new policy that required customers who purchase nail polish remover to be at least 18 years old.

A national pharmacy chain is dropping a new policy that required customers who purchase nail polish remover to be at least 18 years old.

CVS stores, like the one in Grand Forks, recently started requiring customers to show an ID to purchase products with acetone, including nail polish remover, to curb the production and sale of methamphetamine. But, CVS wrote on its Twitter account Wednesday night that after reviewing the issue further, purchasing products with acetone will no longer require an ID, except in Hawaii.
