The nation's largest catfish tournament is coming to Greater Grand Forks this weekend. It's called Cabela's King Kat Tournament Trail, and it draws the top cat fishermen in the country. Tournament director Tanner Tabor says it took about four years to finally get the tournament into the valley. President of the Red River Valley Cat Fish Club, Rob Raymond, says it helps put Greater Grand Forks on the cat fish world map and gives local anglers a chance to go head to head with the top national anglers.

Tournament hours are 6:30 am until 3:00 pm, weigh-in will be held at the LaFave Park Boat Ramp. Anglers will compete for a minimum grand prize of $5,000 and a chance to advance to the Cabela's King Kat Classic in Tennessee.

In conjunction with the tournament, the Cabela's King Kat Kids event is taking place from 9 am to 11 am. The event is free of charge and open to all youth 12 and younger. All children will receive a prize just for entering.
