Work continues on the East Grand Forks police building. The half million dollar project involves work to the roof and exterior walls of the building. The roof had been replaced a decade ago but has been plagued with leaking issues since then. City officials believe that has resulted with a mold problem in the building that is also being cleaned up. At the same time the entire exterior of the building is also being renovated because of cracks in the wall's surfaces
Mike Hedlund says, "we knew we had some insulation issue but as the company removed that exterior the discovered just how poor the insulation was in a number of places in the building. So we will wind up with a much more energy efficient building as well, so obviously there is a significant cost to this project."
The project is expected to be complete around October 1st.
