A book sale to support literacy in Ethiopia is taking place Thursday in Grand Forks. A variety of used books are on sale to benefit the nonprofit Ethiopia Reads.

The event goes until 7 pm and gives people a chance to buy books for a good cause. The sale features reading selections appropriate for all ages including children's stories and science books. Ethiopia Reads was founded here in Grand Forks and board members say that it's all about doing something to benefit the world.

"I believe that we should do what we can do to make a difference in this world," said board member Ann Porter. "And second, I believe that education is the way we do that in the most long-lasting way."

The book sale will continue Friday as well from 8:00 am to noon. You can find more information at their website, here.
