MINOT, N.D. (AP) - The spring flood outlook along the Souris
River has improved.
The National Weather Service says in its latest outlook that a
lack of moisture in February has slightly lowered the possibility
of moderate to major flood stages along the river.
The Saskatchewan River Forecast Center in Canada also has issued
its latest outlook for the Souris River Basin. The two major
reservoirs that capture runoff in Saskatchewan are expected to have
more than enough storage room.
But while it is likely the river will remain within its banks,
the weather service says there is high concern for overland and
small stream flooding in the region.
