Entering the 2013 season, Kittson County Central players say they remember that one point loss to Stephen-Argyle a little to much. So they're pushing it to the max at practice on the hot, scorching days.
But for KCC, no amount of water can wash away last season's finale.
So the Bearcat players scratched and clawed all summer in preparation for the fall.
Cory Waling, Kittson County Central head coach, "The disappointment from last year's season, with these seniors and juniors, really stuck with them over the off-season. They put in a tremendous amount of work to build toward this season and get over that hump."
Running backs Fernando Blanco and Nick Kasprowicz hope to make a run into the nine-man playoffs.
Kasprowicz, "Obviously we want to win the section and hopefully go on to state level and hopefully good things can happen after that."
Blanco, "Win the section championship this year. We've been working our butts off and at practice we motivate each other and push each other through every drill."
Making the push to finish the job.
Waling, "Being perfect in that moment. That's our theme, preach the moment, control what you can control."
Kittson County Central opens the season against Norman County West.
