Neighbors and friends of the late East Grand Forks farmer Brad Nelson are stepping up to harvest the family's wheat crop. Nelson died in a tractor rollover accident July 9. He was 55 years old.

Family members say they are still in shock that Brad is gone, but want to make him proud and continue with the harvest. Friends from neighboring farms brought in trucks and combines to help get the wheat crop off. The group was able to harvest 80 acres of wheat in about three hours. Brad's daughter, Kim, was in one of the combines. She says the support of neighbors is helping her get through this harvest season. Family friends say they could never replace Brad, but hope to honor his hard work ethic by helping.

"You feel blessed...you know they're there and you know they'd do anything for you but when they actually show up it brings joy," said Kim

"There won't be a harvest in the future either where you don't think about him....or driving by any one of these roads or fields. There's always a memory of him," said family friend Kevin Thompson.

Final autopsy results list the death as accidental. Police say no foul play was detected. Kim tells us the tractor is being examined by an independent company.
